Been doing this for 2 months now and it's been liberating. Its been a while i just watched TV during weekends, but still, I was not getting any value out of it and when I noticed 3, 4 hours have passed watching rubbish.
Same way we take care of what goes into our body by eating healthy foods, we should take care of the quality of foods we feed our minds.
It's no secret that most of Tv is purely junk food for thoughts and you don't control what's being fed to you.
